Design
Huge for a modern gaming console Space-age aesthetic is polarizing But the size means more space for air ventilation and a bigger fan
The PS5 is a sleek and compact console. It’s similar in shape to its predecessor, but it’s smaller than most other consoles out there. The PS5 has a matte finish with rounded edges that make for an easy grip when holding your controller. The design of the PS4 has been well received by gamers, so we are hoping to see this trend continue on with their next-gen console as well. In terms of ports, the front of the PlayStation 5 has a USB-A and USB-C port, while the back sports two USB-A ports, a HDMI 2.1 port, an Ethernet port and a power port. There are no proprietary ports on the console, which is always a bonus if you need to replace the odd cable.
Performance
Capable of 4K/120fps gameplay as well as support for 8K/60. Faster loading times thanks to new SSD. System runs cool and quiet nearly all the time.
PS5 is a great choice for gamers who want to play games on a big screen, and it’s also great for those who have been playing their consoles in the past few years. The PlayStation 5 is a technically amazing piece of hardware in terms of specifications. The new bespoke RDNA 2 GPU can push 4K resolution at 120 frames per second, and the AMD Zen 2-based octa-core CPU has a clock speed of 3.5GHz. With 16GB of GDDR6 memory and an 825GB NVMe SSD, this computer has really outstanding specifications. Sony’s firmware update is required for the PS5 to output 8K resolution. Until then, we’ll have to wait.
CPU: AMD Zen 2-based CPU with 8 cores at 3.5GHz (variable frequency) GPU: 10.28 TFLOPs, 36 CUs at 2.23GHz (variable frequency) GPU architecture: Custom RDNA 2 Memory interface: 16GB GDDR6 / 256-bit Memory bandwidth: 448GB/s Internal storage: Custom 825GB SSD Usable storage: 667.2GB IO throughput: 5.5GB/s (raw), typical 8-9GB/s (compressed) Expandable storage: NVMe SSD slot External storage: USB HDD support (PS4 games only) Optical drive: 4K UHD Blu-ray drive
Price and Availability
The PlayStation 5 is available for pre-order at $399 and expected to be released in November. It comes with four different color options: black, white, red and blue.
How Good Is the 3D Tempest Audio?
3D Tempest Audio is the first ever audio technology that allows the player to hear sounds from all directions. The ODEON chain of cinemas uses this technology to create an immersive experience for moviegoers, and Sony’s next-generation PlayStation (PS5) will follow suit.
What About Heat and Noise?
The PlayStation 5 is a very powerful console, and it can generate a lot of heat. This is why the PS5 has a cooling system that keeps it running at all times. If you want to learn more about how this works, I recommend reading our article on PS5’s cooling system. It’s important to note that the PS4 was never loud or too hot in my experience; however, I do think this generation will be quieter than previous ones because of its new design (which helps keep heat off your hands). In general, I find most consoles these days are really quiet compared with their predecessors—especially when using an external device like an optical cable adapter or headphones!
Dualsense Controller
The Dualsense controller is the most advanced gaming controller ever designed. It’s also a game changer, and it gives you a competitive edge over other players because of its incredible precision and responsiveness. The DualSense Controller is more accurate than any other controller on the market, which means you don’t have to worry about having to change your shooting style or gameplay strategy when playing with this device. You can feel comfortable using it because it will always be accurate in every situation you put yourself in as an athlete or gamer! This controller’s comfortability has been tested by athletes around the world who have used this device during their training sessions at home or work out facilities across North America (USA), Europe (EU), Asia Pacific region including Japan & China etc…
Features
Redesigned user interface with beautiful splash screens for every game. PlayStation button has all new features Party chat allows you to screen share
If you’re looking for a gaming console that has a ton of features, PlayStation 5 is the one for you. It has all the best games and streaming services, along with a huge library of apps, music and movies. The PS5 also has tons of great TV shows you can watch on Netflix or HBO Now as well. The PS5 comes with several ways to play your favorite games—including single player campaigns from popular video game franchises like Tomb Raider and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (which feature cinematic cutscenes). There are also multiplayer modes like Fortnite Battle Royale where up to 100 players fight against each other while trying not to be killed by other players who are trying their best not to get killed!
Streaming Video Services and Other Apps
One of my favorite features is the ability to use your phone as a controller for some games on the PS5. This allows you to play certain games while sitting at your desk or bedside table with nothing more than an app on your phone!
Game Library
Astro’s Playroom is pre-installed on every PS5. The PlayStation Plus Collection is a great way for new players to get started. Limited compatibility with PS3, PS2, and PS1 games
Most consoles don’t launch with a complete library of titles, therefore the PS5’s launch bar was quite low. In spite of this, your opinion of the PlayStation 5’s existing game catalog will mostly depend on whether you completed the PS4’s masterpieces, such as God of War, The Last of Us Part II, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. If you haven’t completed them or haven’t played them at all, you may have over a dozen terrific games to play from the moment you switch on the PS5 owing to backwards compatibility, including Ghost of Tsushima and Days Gone, which have been enhanced with a 60fps update. Sony’s new PlayStation Plus Collection comprises 19 defining games from the previous generation that can be downloaded on launch day if you are a PS Plus subscriber. Astro’s Playroom is pre-installed on every PS5, and it’s an exciting demonstration of the system’s capabilities. Astro’s Playroom is a platformer that is a fully fleshed-out sequel to Astro Bot: Rescue Mission. It features exotic locales that conceal artifacts from Sony’s PlayStation hardware catalog. In one level, you will uncover a PlayStation VR Aim Controller buried in a snowbank, while another level may conceal a PlayStation Portable. It’s a wonderful homage to the now-defunct PlayStation hardware, but we anticipate that some players will complete it, then remove it to regain the 10GB of storage space it occupies on the system. If you wish to play it again, you can always re-download it from your games collection or the PlayStation Store. But what other games can you play if you get a PS5 today? Well, the PS5 catalog now comprises primarily of cross-generation titles, which is significantly aided by the fact that it is entirely backward compatible with PS4. Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Demon’s Souls, Destruction AllStars, Horizon: Forbidden West, Returnal, and Gran Turismo 7 are just a few of the notable first-party PS5 games that are currently in development. Also available are major third-party titles such as Resident Evil Village, Call of Duty: Vanguard, and Watch Dogs: Legion.
Backward Compatibility
You can play any game on your PS4, and now you can also play them on your PS5. If you already own a PlayStation 4, or if you buy one at launch, then all of its games will work with the new system. This is great news for anyone who’s been waiting to upgrade their gaming experience—but it doesn’t stop there! If you have an existing PlayStation 3 console and want to get into the latest generation of gaming without breaking the bank by buying both systems (which would cost thousands), then this is another advantage of owning both systems: they’ll run together without any problems! The only way around this feature is if developers decide not support backward compatibility anymore—which seems unlikely given how popular it has become over time…
